Quick answer
Choose Scruff if you want a blue, slightly larger plush with a classic look; choose Dafney if you prefer a pink, more compact pup with a sweet, modern design.
Why size and color matter
Both Scruff and Dafney are 9-inch plush pups from the ebba line, but subtle differences in shade and detailing give each a distinct personality. Scruff's blue tone feels calm and familiar, while Dafney's pink finish adds a playful twist. The similar size means they cuddle equally well, but the color choice can make one feel more personal to your child.
Texture and construction
Both toys use ebba's signature buttery-soft fabrics and fine detailing, ensuring a safe, huggable experience. The premium construction from Aurora, a plush pioneer since 1981, means these pups are built to last through daily play and gentle washing. Neither toy has reported loose parts or rough seams, making them suitable for infants and toddlers.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Softness: Both offer ebba's signature buttery-soft feel. No trade-off here—both are equally huggable.
- Color preference: Scruff is blue; Dafney is pink. Choose based on your child's favorite color or the nursery theme. If you want a neutral option, Scruff fits more color schemes.
