Compare the Rex Lion & Regi Cub and Cluck Chicken & Cheepy Chick Snuggawugs plush sets on size, price, and character, with clear guidance on which mom and baby plush set fits your child.
Quick answer
Choose the Rex Lion & Regi Cub if you want a slightly larger, classic wild-animal pair and don't mind paying a little more. Choose the Cluck Chicken & Cheepy Chick if you prefer a barnyard theme or want the lower-priced option. Both are 11-inch Snuggawugs plush sets with a baby counterpart, so the decision comes down to character and budget.
What both Snuggawugs sets share
Both the Rex Lion and Cluck Chicken are part of the ebba Snuggawugs collection: 11-inch plush animals holding their own baby counterpart. That two-in-one design gives children a ready-made pair for role play, comfort, or display, and the ultra-soft materials are intended for snuggling. Because both sets use the same format, you are not choosing between different play patterns—only between two characters and two price points.
Where the two pairs differ
The Rex Lion & Regi Cub is listed at $17.50 (compared with a $23.97 comparison price), while the Cluck Chicken & Cheepy Chick is $15.19 (compared with $24.11). That makes the chicken pair the lower-cost choice at the catalog prices shown, but the lion pair is still modestly priced for a two-plush set. Character appeal is the bigger divider: a lion and cub suggest a safari or zoo theme, while a chicken and chick lean toward farmyard play. Neither set includes option types such as color or size choices, so you are picking the animal pair as listed.
The trade-off: price versus theme
If your child already has farm animal toys, the Cluck Chicken set extends that world naturally and saves a few dollars. If safari animals or big cats are the favorite, the Rex Lion set is the more coherent addition even at the higher price. There is no functional advantage to either set based on the supplied facts; the trade-off is purely thematic preference against budget.
Decision rules for your Snuggawugs pair
- If theme leads: Pick the Rex Lion & Regi Cub for a safari or big-cat fan, or the Cluck Chicken & Cheepy Chick for a farmyard fan. Match the animal to toys and books your child already enjoys. Theme match matters more than the small price gap for long-term play value.
- If budget leads: At the catalog prices shown, the Cluck Chicken set is $2.31 less than the Rex Lion set. Choose it when you want the two-in-one plush format at the lowest current price.
- If gifting a pair: Both sets are 11 inches and include a baby counterpart, so either works as a mom-and-baby gift. Choose the animal that matches the recipient's nursery theme or favorite story. Check the child's existing plush collection before buying to avoid duplicating a theme.
